All you have to do is get interested! It snowballs from there. The same thing happened to me with computers.

Yeah I understand. I've been playing guitar for 6 years and now you could ask me any question and I could answer it. I also know like 1000 guitars their pickups, well you understand haha.

Monoprice 8320. I believe you can get them to ship to Canada.

I know they are meant for studios but that is what I'll be primarily using them on anyway.VEVO wrote I have a budget of $130. I typically listen to music on my iPhone and on my stereo system that hooks up to my PC. I use the fat plug on the stereo to be able to. I usually listen to a wide variety of songs but typically ones with high bass. I also want to be able to use them so that I can hear surroundings well like lets say gunshots and be able to pinpoint their direction. Also, I prefer something with a nice design so i can be able to use them when I'm out and not look completely ugly. Around the ear noise isolating headphones are what I am used to. Plus rep if you help me out. Oh, and this is what will make it hurt. They have to be from Best Buy. I have a gift card with them and that's the only way. :|If you can in any way add $20 to your budget, the Philips Citiscape Uptown would be absolutely perfect for you. The Koss PRODJ100 wouldn't be a bad option for you either, but don't look as cool: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
If you don't mind on-ears, the AKG K181 would be the best option since they're incredibly bassy: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
The 518 is pretty good and probably the best you'll get out of most Best Buys. Not sure what else is there, though. If you're after a ton of bass, they're not for you, but for monitoring or production, they're good. They also benefit from an amp if you want to add one. A Fiio E11 is a good match for these.
I think you'd benefit a lot from selling the gift card and ordering other headphones online. If that's a possibility, I'd recommend you do that. You'll be able to get something that's exactly what you want instead of settling just on what they have.
I just checked Ebay and it looks like you'd only lose ~10 bucks there. It's your choice, though. The 518 is not bad at all, but it just doesn't sound like it's what you're looking for.
Sorry for the late response. The Ultrasone HFI-580, V-Moda LP (The 580 > these, but the V-Modas have a lot more than just SQ to consider), and the AKG K181DJ (On-ear, very bassy).
If you're producing, though, I'd go for the AKG K272.

Oh gosh, please don't get the HD518 if they're anything like the HD515. Those were a mistake to try. They probably won't be horrible but frankly, you'd be better off getting a Bose AE2 instead. But the Ultrasone suggestion would be best for you if you get a nice sum from your gift card.
Rune wrote r00t_b33r and Ishcabible, can I ask. How do you guys know & learnt so much about headphones.
Well I've always been interested in instruments and the more I got into them, the more I realized my headphones really sucked, so I started doing some research about 5 years ago. I almost bought a pair of Shure E2c's because they were literally one of the 3 IEM's in my budget--you guys are incredibly lucky to have so many options now since the IEM market was nonexistent back then--and after reading so much crap about them, I decided to do more research and bought an Audio Technica A500, which was a revelation from my Sony EX85's. Then I bought a Beyerdynamic DT220 which sounded radically different, and I guess I caught the bug because the differences between headphones was about as drastic as it is between different brands of instruments. Now I review stuff for a website so there's really no way out.

I'd save your money and go with the Creative Aurvana Live. I would usually recommend the Ultrasone HFI-580, but they're not available on UK Amazon. If you can find them, though, get them! The AKG K181DJ is also a good option of you want on-ear headphones.
PM sent.

I got a recommendation for AKG K 518 DJ Headphones and I bought them not realizing that over ear apparently is better for bass. Is this true could I buy better "bassed" Over Ear headphones for a lower price?
