Okay so imagine a hole, straight through the earth. From where you are right now, all the way to the other side of the earth. If you were to jump inside that hole, what would happen?(If you didnt burn up in the center)
post with your opinions...
Okay here is the information you need to know to figure this out...
-Gravity at the surface of the earth is approximately 9.8 m/s^2.
-Earths radius is approximately 6.3568 x 10^6 m.
+If you were to do this math problem you would need to calculate your speed and momentum at the center of the earth. After that, you would need to calculate the momentum needed to reach the other side of the earth.
First person to figure out if you will be able to reach the other side gets 200 rep.

You'd be gravitated down to the surface of the Earth in which you were standing.. It's no opinion, it's just science.

If you mean the Earth was a ring, then it wouldn't matter, if you mean you could circle around and through the hole, then it wouldn't make a difference.. In fact, the gravitational pull may be less cos the mass of the Earth would be lesser, thus you would have less gravity.

You Would Die Before You Left The Crust Because Of A Little Something Called Pressure!

would the momentum of the first part of the gravity be enough to push you to the other side?

you would stay in the middle of the earth, as earth's gravity pulls everything to the centre.

The pressure would crush you way before you hit the center.

Due to the pull of gravity you would most likely be pulled until you reached space which had no gravity.
In space you'd end up dying due to lack of oxygen, food, and the pressure.
You'd most likely burn up because a drop that long is like dropping from such a high altitude.
