Budget & Currency: $500-600 (USD)
Peripherals & Monitor: None needed.
Games: BF3 with steady frames on low-medium.
Software: Adobe AE, Vegas Pro
Aesthetics: none of the parts need to look pretty. (EDIT: already have a case, cut that out of build)
Rebates/Promos: If you can get them sure, not needed though
Details: Prefer AMD CPU (Zambezi quad-core) if you can fit it in the budget, and a stock heatsink is fine, I will OC when i buy a new one.
Here is one I put together but I'm not sure about it yet, I have more faith in you knowing what you are doing with compatibility and all that

The problem with your build was the entire build as a whole. You need to focus more money towards parts that will make a difference. An i3-2100 wrecks any AMD CPU out right now and a 6870 is not even in the same range as a low-end 6670 that would struggle playing BF3.

I don't get it, how is this CPU better than the 8-Core processors that AMD has? (Not trying to be rude just trying to understand)

That's a $180 processor, try comparing things a bit closer in budget...

Budget is too low, not going to happen. Sorry. $300 is something we can work with, though.

Next week, I'm going to be teaching a camp at my school in which every kid (around 3rd grade, I think) gets to build a computer. The cost of the camp was $350, so I didn't have much to work with. They could get a decent computer, sure, but there just would not be much profit. The school neglected to consult with me before setting the price for the camp, so I made sure they were OK with it. I won't get paid much, and neither will they.
Anyway, this morning I ordered five of these systems. If anyone's looking for an awesome build around $300, I'm not sure it can get any better than this.

$354 before $15 off with two promo codes, a $15 gift card, and $30 in rebates
The final price is $294!
For that price, you get ALL THIS. I surprised myself with this one. A quad-core CPU, an stupid-fast SSD, 4GB of RAM with a free slot, a solid case, and the ability to add an AMD 6670 to crossfire with the GPU on the APU.
First thing you might notice, only 60GB? They're little kids, and I'll be using it as a lesson. If they'll be storing heaps of data, I'll show them how to add a mechanical hard drive and how to buy one. I can't see the lower capacity being an issue and speed would make for a better experience.
I wanted a regular ATX case to make sure they weren't doing anything too out of the ordinary getting introduced to building. It also helps provide a great upgrade path and it's a great case.
I picked an A75 motherboard over an A55 model because these needed SATA III support for the SSDs. I chose this one because it was the best deal and came with a rebate in addition to the combo with the A8.
The RAM is extremely cheap, slick-looking, fast, and leaves an open slot. Need I say more?
The power supply is more than enough for this build an a discrete video card. It's also $20 after rebates, which is one of the best deals I've ever come across. It's a deal without the promo code and rebate.
I went with the A8 3870K APU because I want to teach them the wonders of overclocking and they get insane performance for the price.
I'll be installing Ubuntu on these systems or, if I can get copies from the IT department, Windows 7.
Expect updates next week.

It's the i3-2100 listed as a combo with the DVD burner.
Oh I see, my apologies.

Yes, you could play on medium/high settings. I would recommend that you record at medium.
(I would also play on medium for higher frame rate(60FPS+) but you could play on high no problem.
