They're trash for the price. There's plenty of sense in buying expensive headphones, but only if you buy the right ones.

Not...really. They aren't really decent by any measure; they're pretty mediocre.
I definitely see the point in buying nice headphones because they genuinely can make a difference, but for the price of Beats, you can get something that's actually good.

200$ for a tad bit more bass. Just stick with the regular 20$ earphones.

I'd like to know what $20 headphones that you have that sound that good. Even below $50 it's hard to find headphones that sound better than the already mediocre Beats.
I'm digressing here, but I find it annoying that you can't just assume that people here would search for stuff on headphones before making their own thread, since the headphone thread isn't in the technology section.

Well the Xeport 5010 and AKG K518 are technically superior to the Solos, I think, but yeah, the Studios aren't as bad as we make it sound. You need the $80 AKG K181DJ to find something better than the Studios. The Pros are pretty hard to beat for enjoyment. Although if you can find a good condition AKG K240 Sextett and buy a vintage receiver, you'd have the most enjoyable setup I can think of for under $300.

Beats are quite terribly in my opinion.
The only thing you pay for is the brand name.
