Nice! Which ones? And the only reason I wasn't lazy was because the early decision deadline was really early and early decision was the only way I'd get in.

The PXC450 was an impulse buy and the more I read about them, the less I'm assuming I'll like them. Well...maybe someone would trade a pair of Grados for them.

Clarkson, Drexel, Olin, and Rennselaer for now and I'll probably do more. Also Rose-Hulman and University of KY (dat in-state tuition with KEES money, first choice realistically).

Never even heard of the PXC450... Did you... Pay retail?

Rose-Hulman was pretty nice. I just wanted a college that was a bit more...social. RH was pretty dead since it's in the middle of nowhere.

And of course I didn't pay retail It's supposedly a bit worse than the HD380, which I already dislike. Maybe these will be donor headphones. Or maybe I won't mind because these would only be used for actual noise cancelling purposes.

I, again, am introduced by people into Audio-Technica's ATH M50 and Beyer's DT990. According to one of them DT990's clarity is top notch and can also serves damn well as gaming headphone (of course that is not my primary need as I'm already using SS SiberiaV2).

Yes. If possible, would be able to wear them comfortably when walking on streets, but this is not really important as I spend most of my time in front of PC.

Yes, definitely. If possible, able to isolate me from radio musics being played in my office.

Is durability a big priority?
Yes.

No. This one will focus mainly on enjoying music, or keeping me up when working for long hours.

I hated the M50 for indie. The somewhat recessed midrange combined with the tipped up treble and narrow soundstage made for a bad time.

The DT990 is open and doesn't fit your needs because they have no isolation.

You absolutely do not need to worry about the K550's build quality. Every other headphone in this price range except for a few that don't fit your criteria is made in China. The K550 in my experience is above average because they are made of metal everywhere.

Shure SE215 is great for metal, but a bit veiled for jazz. Do you want something bassy or neutral?

The AKG K518 is bassy enough for dubstep and bright enough for ska

Is bass more important than vocals? If so, then possibly the V-Moda Crossfade LP2 or AKG K181DJ if you want some vocals.


Also, I got the T50P today. They sound like pants.
