Yes, it's backwards compatible and the max bandwidth increase won't have a significant impact on performance for you.

What are the rest of your parts and did you decide to go AMD or Intel? The Intel option I gave is cheaper than the AMD route with the Asus 880G board, Enermax cooler, and FX-6300.

i think imma stay with the amd and the mother board i got. im not looking to game but want 3 mointers. this is the gpu i was looking at.
