Well sorry to hear that bro.
I have a GF ( whom with I connect the dots frequently with ;) ), many friends, 3.86 GPA. I am a varsity athlete for football and baseball.
I also manage to sneak in 11 hours of sleep and an average of 2 hours on XBL. I'll stick to what I love I guess.

If you had an addiction to an electronic, the best way isn't to quit cold turkey. However I do not believe in completely giving up on the xbox, if you do, the addiction gets worse. Now you sit in class, wondering "Wow I want to play the new CoD, or Man this sucks! Wish I could play Xbox!" It's because of these things, that you need to just regulate time. Have a friend go on the xbox, and set the one hour a day time lock on it. Make them come up with a parent settings password, and make make sure they won't ever tell it to you. Easy.

Direcctt wrote Yep, it's gone. It was ruining my life, socially and mentally and was eating away at my sleep, thus killing my grades in school. Today was a wake up call. If you're in my shoes, do what I did.
You were the one ruining your life. It was your fault if you were actually playing so much that you would get no sleep and not do your homework. Have some self control.

This is the best piece of advice I've read on this thread.
Quitting completely triggers an effect in your body which it isn't used to. As your mind is used to being regularly stimulated by the use of video games, completely stopping will deem it ir-regular and it therefore... panics if you will, which just means it craves for it more than ever.
As TTGxBANANAS said, just monitor your playing time. Don't stop completely. If you play for 12 hours+ a day, start playing for 10. Then a little later on, play for 6-8. Then 4-5/6. You get my meaning.
Also, next time you're doing a 12 hour session, if you do, and you're meant to be studying/working on other stuff, ask yourself if you still want to be addicted to the Xbox when you're in your 20's not earning a good living whilst other's are earning a decent living.
Hope it all works well, good luck!
