Agreed, nothing is added to society as a whole by having guns. People will always kill people, why give them an easier way of doing it...

Why can't you see that when I have a weapon, I will be able to defend myself when the time comes. You only see the bad that comes from people abusing guns.

Nothing good can come from guns. You defend yourself, and someone else loses a child/father/mother/brother/sister, yes obviously you WOULD defend yourself, but you forget that you are ruining their family as well. So unless they have a gun pointed at you with intent to kill, then you killing them or maiming them will not solve much. Yes, you get to keep your wallet or your TV, but wouldn't being trained in fighting be a better option.. you can defend yourself, and no one needs to die. Guns are the easy way out in most situations. Wars could be prevented if the world was equally maintained, but instead everyone just blows each other up and then reaps the benefits and spoils leftover. Now obviously being able to use handguns at home isn't this extreme, but it is very much the same. Those who steal are the ones who need. If no one needed, no one would steal. And now somehow I have arrived at communism... but I'll save that for later.

Weren't you the one who said our government is bad? What's left of the Constitution is being edited out as we speak and have you heard the fiscal cliff plans? We are already being outrageously taxed, not to mention gas prices stemming from wars involving guns that you want to keep. What we fought for in 1776, has been dead for years.

It could happen again. that's the thing that you don't seem to understand. What if one day our country does begin to be corrupt and you are weaponless. What do you have to fight with?

It's not that hard to make a gun magazine. And for the ammo some assault rifle barrels can be modified to shoot pistol cartridges with no problem. Also someone could make their own ammo they just need gun powder and what ever projectile they want to shoot.

no way they're taking my 12 gauge, and ya, i make my own ammo, ever shot +AA batteries out of a shotgun? its fun, even playdough does damage, i got those idea's from a guy who makes custom ammo on youtube lol. and i feel safer with guns than i do without. aiming a phone at someone saying i have the cops on the phone when they try breaking in wont scare them that bad because of the time it'll take the cops to get there, aiming a 12 gauge at them however, just might make them stop, and run.

I think more of the important problems would be what we are spending our money with. We are mishandling our spending and that money wasted could've gone towards the other problems that you stated.

I'm also, correct me if I'm wrong, quite sure there is a slight difference between a gun and alcohol. Alcohol is a controlled substance, that kills people whom are idiotic enough to drink too much, I know this due to one of my friends dying from alcohol poisoning. A gun is used to shoot, you don't go buying guns to display in your home do you? You choose to shoot people. The logic dictates that the shooting that has brought this about is that the gun was bought when you could purchase them. Him owning one was completley legal. Look how he abused you're country. How can you blame the government for what a man does, I swear the logic pool of this community drasticly decreases daily.
