You can't simply compare any sort of third world countries to the US, as there is much more corruption, greed, to the point where it doesn't matter if guns are removed there or not.
However, let's compare the US to Canada, most of Europe, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, etc, where guns are banned.

The gun homcide rates are exponentially lower in countries that have stricter gun control than the US. It is proven that less guns=less homicides. Is the second amendment really so precious that you are willing to have all these people die in the US every year because of your "rights"? Sure, most should still be allowed, but there is no reason to have these assault rifles, and the US would be a much better place without it.
Japan for example, has one of the lowest gun homicide rates in the world, and it also has one of the most strict gun control laws as well. Just compare all of these developed countries that have strict gun control laws to the US. What I've been hearing a lot is "Guns don't kill people, people kill people". Really? Is that why the gun homicide rates are so much higher in the US? The fact is, someone who is mentally insane should not own a gun in the first place. If a person is mentally disabled enough to decide to kill people, having a gun in the house makes that decision a lot easier. That's why you rarely hear mass shootings happening in these places with strict gun control. Australia, which was also a culture that liked guns, banned guns. Their crime and homicide rates dropped after that.
The last thing I'm going to point out is the whole idea that the US is being run by a tyrannical government. People have been saying that for centuries, so to all of these people that are saying this, it's simply not the case. The idea that "imaginary Hitler" will rise again if they try to take guns away from Americans is absolutely ridiculous. Hasn't happened to other countries, it won't happen to the US. Besides, there isn't enough factual evidence to prove that the US is being run by a tyrannical government in the first place.
How is taking away our rights making us more well developed? In my eyes, a society where we can be at peace with freedom to do things that do not harm yourself and others is a well developed society.
It's just these insane idiots that go on rampages killing people that make us look bad. There is no reason to take away weapons because of the wrong doing of a couple people.
You say there isn't enough factual evidence to prove that the US is being run by a tyrannical government, but don't you think that our actions prove us to be a pretty horrible society? I mean we encourage baby murder aka abortions. We are the ONLY country that has ever dropped a nuclear bomb on another country. You can't fight and argue saying that removing weapons will make our society better. It's the people itself that is bringing us down. Not the weapons.
I'm saying that having the child be born is better than murdering the child. Just because its in the womb does not mean it isn't a person, it still is.

First of all, I wasn't saying that taking away guns will make the US more "developed". People are comparing countries like Mexico, and countries in South America to the US in terms of gun control and gun homicides, which isn't right because the US should be compared to first-world, developed countries. Every other developed country has rights and freedoms, even though gun control is there. In fact, many countries have more freedom and rights than the US even without guns, especially if this whole "tyrannical government" thing is true.
A couple people? I wouldn't call 30,470 firearm-related deaths in the United States in [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] , a couple of people. :| 66.9% of homicides were carried out with a firearm, in 2009.
"Encourage abortions"? Giving the person the option to abort their child is not encouraging them, it's just allowing the woman the choice. I'm not saying that abortion is the correct thing to do in these cases, but it is up to the woman. Also, Canada for example has no legal restrictions on abortion, does that make us a bad society?
The US bombed Japan with the possibility that Japan was going to attack the US. It has been proven that Japan was going to attack the US, so they had to protect themselves by attacking first. The reason why nuclear bombs haven't been launched since then is because of their destructive power. Besides, didn't Obama want to get rid of all nuclear weapons (one of the reasons why he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize)?

Which is easier:
Killing a group of people with a semi automatic pistol
Or beating them to death with a plank?

Plank, pipe, stone, lamp, stick, branch, knife, cleaver, fork, spoon, spork, table leg, chair, television, radio, microwave, suitcase, briefcase, curtain rail, laptop, drawer, candlestick, wrench, drill, screwdriver, hubcap, radiator, rock, book, hammer, electric sander, vacuum cleaner, kettle, toaster, hairdryer, shower hose, rope, garden hose, spade, rake, shoe, baseball bat, cricket bat, saw, chainsaw, window pane, sledgehammer, bottle, or even someone's bare hands.
These can all be used to kill someone.
But isn't it a lot easier to take your semi auto handgun and put a bullet through a couple of heads than to attack them with one of the objects above?

tbyeah wroteYeah, but the "bad guys" will still have guns after they are banned. I dont know why people dont get it. If they are going to kill someone dont you think even though guns are banned they will still get their hands on one? They cant make guns illegal because most Americans have guns, so what are they gonna do go to every house hold break in and take the guns?ineedaxplobbymw2 wrotetbyeah wroteWho would use a plank?
