spidum wroter00t wrotespidum wrote The best bang for your buck is definitely the EVGA GTX670 FTW+ 4gb. It rivals high end 680s for hundreds less. I got 2 in SLI, they run anything and everything I throw at it at over 160fps easy.
Your setup only makes sense if you're running a 2560 x 1440 (or 1600) monitor or three 1080p monitors in Surround. For a single 1080p monitor, there's no need for a 4GB card and they exist solely to accommodate SLI setups for high-resolution gaming. Two 670s for 1080p monitor is completely pointless unless the monitor is 120 Hz. If your minimum frame rate is greater than the refresh rate of your monitor (almost certainly 60 Hz) then anything more is pointless.
The 7970 still outperforms the 4GB 670 and, in Crossfire, the 7970s will perform better than two 680s. The 7970 is the better card and it will overclock higher, stay cooler, and be quieter due to a superior cooler.

Whoah Whoah! Butthurt ati fanboy over here. Calm down son. No need to get your jimmies rustled. I personally do not use ati cards purely because they are severely more prone to failure, their build process is less precise and my water blocks are for 680s. But if you want to buy a cheaper card that is more likely to break sooner be my guest. But at least with nvidia I get what I'm paying for.
Preferring one brand over another is stupid and childish. Nvidia has better cards at certain price points and AMD does too. If you think I take this personally, you're wrong and searching for a stupid fanboy argument. You fanboys can disagree with facts all you want and pull BS excuses for preferring a certain brand over another all day but in the end you just look like a misguided fool. You can believe they're "less precise" and that they'll "break sooner" (HAH) all you want, but do people a favor and don't impart your bias onto what you recommend. If you refuse to recommend a superior card, do everyone a favor and don't even post. If the 670 was the better card here, I'd recommend it. It's not. This is true as proved by benchmarks.

You can get a great deal on RAM by getting it in a combo with your CPU. Here's the full build:

And if you want an SSD...

And of course the case can change depending on what you like. Not everyone's going to like the design of the R4, but for the price, it's unbeatable in terms of performance.

Thank you for all your help, I really appreciate it.
If it wasn't for you I would've wasted $100-200 for the same or even less performance.

He wants a future proof card. The 660 will be outdated in about a year and a half.
The 660 ti will definitely NOT be outdated in a year and a half.

All games on high settings in a year and a half? Doubtful.
