You will not use 90% of the stuff you learn in school in real life. The point of it is to work your brain and get it developing properly.

Its funny because people aren't even reading the post and just replying with
OH MI GAWD NO SCHOOL YOUD BE SO DUMB.

I think education needs to change. Any math skill past Algebra 1 should be voluntery (sp). By the time you are in HS you should know wether your career path needs any furhter math. You should have to take a type of English (or comprehension) class every year you are in school. Science should be a voluntary (sp) subject when it comes to highschool. Science applies to almost no realistic career path in the real world unless that's the career you're taking. You should have to take one year American, European, and World history class. You should have to take 3 years of an economics class at least. You should have to take a computer / technology related class once every year ( 1 terms worth). All students should have to take a year of career preparation (they currently offer this in limited states). Every student should be required to take and pass the presidental fitness test every single year even if it is at the obese level of passing. Every student should be required to take 4 years of a Foreign Language no exception.
I only graduated highschool. I'm currently making $3,600 a week and serving in the Army. The sooner people realize that school does nothing to prepare us for the real world and makes us out to be bunch of lab rats (which we aren't) the better.
Thanks for reading if you took the time.

-Jailbreak- wrote No one is making you go to school... If you want you cn be a manager at Mcdonalds all your life.

You're jumping to an automatic, typical "McDonald's" thing. If you work at one thing, and you get good at it, you can make a lot of money and be a big success... It doesn't always mean you will work at McDonald's

your attitude will change when you actually realize what you wanna do then find out you cant because you didnt do the work in grade 9, like me, i smoked pot evryday and went to class. never remembered a thing, school is **** pointless, but dont mean you can slack off and just get by

You're saying the same thing basically, I agree, school will help you to get a good education and a good, well paying job. But what I'm saying is you can't automatically say someone will flip burgers because they didn't go to school, although it is the case a lot of the time, it doesn't mean it always will be.

"At what point are we going to use all of this that we are learning? Do we NEED to know that Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879? Like say you're a waitress when you're grown, are we going to pull out a microscope and look at how many cells are in a cheeseburger?"

I believe you're very naive, you're missing the point of what school teaches you early on. It's not just knowledge of your different classes, it's also about bettering yourself. Strive for the best, increase your performance, and become a better person. School teaches kids how to manage a time schedule and be on time very early on. Knowledge will get you very far in this world, without it you're hopeless - unless of course you like the sound of burgers sizzling when you flip them. School prepares you for the real world. Yes, there are very smart people who havn't finished highschool - that is extremely rare though.
