Religion is a way of thinking. Its fine and dandy if you believe it, just don't TELL people that its true. To me, religion is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Its just something to fight over and debate. If God is so great and all powerful, how about he fixes the issues in this world? If he can apparently develop a whole world, why can't he fix the issues with it. Don't tell me "he is busy" or anything like that, it is said that he created the world basically instantly, if he can do that he can make a few quick fixes also. You believe in Christianity I'm guessing, and Jews believe in Judaism, and Muslims believe in Islam, and Buddhists believe in Buddhism, and Hindus believe in Hinduism, who is to say just one of those is right? And those aren't the only ones. How can so many religions exist? Because its controversial, it is uncertain, NO ONE KNOWS. Have you met God? Have you met Jesus? If you have you might've dreamt it, just as a child would dream of meeting their favorite celebrity. The point is, no religion has substantial proof, so don't say its true, because technically, non of it is. You can say you Believe in it, just don't push it onto others, they'll believe if they want to believe. I personally am atheist, if you couldn't tell by now, and I doubt many of you who saw this long paragraph even read it. I hear stuff all the time about religion this and religion that. You really notice how much religion is put into our lives once you rid yourself of it, its just more and more propaganda. Things happen sometimes that people can't explain, something like the creation of the universe and everything we know is one of those things. I believe God was a way to explain something that could not be explained at the time, and has been taken too far. (My opinion)

Leave a Reply on what you think, and again, don't post stupid things like "You're WRONG!" or "God is good" post a reasonable argument, anything else makes you look stupid. Please respect others and their views also. Thank you.

I believe in A god, but that doesn't mean I respect him, in fact I despise him.
To have all that power, yet he just sits around as good people are killed EVERY SINGLE DAY!

Isn't it pretty obvious then that there is no God? You really don't have any reason to believe in him. I'm not trying to convert, but I mean what you're saying, it sounds like you just believe because it seems "right". It's like you want there to be a God.

Too many it does just seem right to believe, being born into a religiously strict family, church every Sunday, grace at dinner, praying nightly, (strict religious habits vary with different religions). Some people are raised on religion, and find it hard just to throw away after 16-22 years of brainwashing (I guess this age range because the person will reach adolescence and question everything).

I don't know how many times I've heard the question:
Religious People Reconsidering The Existence of God wrote "But what if I'm wrong? I'm better off believing and if he exists I go to heaven, if he doesn't, no big deal."

I feel like using a lot of your time and effort worshiping a higher power that turns out to never exist is a big waste of time and therefore a big deal.. but thats just me.

That's also a logical fallacy known as Pascals Wager.

Do people with that attitude think that their all knowing God wouldn't see their belief is fake?
That they are believing out of an insurance policy and not through true faith and conviction?

Religion teaches good morals, basic morals to being a good person, and gives a deeper punishment for breaking the rules than just jail time. This is good.

I believe in Christianity, and although I have little proof I have "faith" because it wouldn't be a religion without it.

Religion was created to control a group of people, a population. If you've ever seen the movie "The book of Eli" that pretty much sums it up. People can say they have been contacted by god, but only the most religious people will believe. I'm not against any religion, but I have my doubts. If we didn't have religion to control us, then there still would end up being a religion. Anyone can say they are a prophet ect. and people will follow and worship such as our ancestors kings claimed they were gods or sons of the gods. Idk it just seems this way to me, and sorry for the long paragraph.
