Ok let me start off by saying yes im sure people get mad at video games which is totally not neccessary. But i mean like I do not see why people get mad, ITS JUST A GAME!!! Ok not the point, i heard this guy on the radio talking about violence through teens, through video games. Like GTA (grand theft auto) he said like a some of 70 percent of teens who play violent video games are more likely to go out commit a crime directly linked to a violent video game, murder rape etc, we have all played GTA so we all know what goes on in it. I mean this guy on the radio went on about more stats like 90 precent of teens are more likely to use drugs after seeing them in a video game. I dont see that to be true because I play ALOT of GTA and im perfectly normal. People (elders) generalize people who play video games and its is not true. leave your thoughts below on violence through video games. Sorry for the bad grammar im typing fast.

Video games can cause violence. Not necessarily because of what is in them, but because people get addicted to games.

When people become addicted to gaming, then all they want to do is play that game. If they have their game taken away from them, they can become violent until they get it back, throwing temper fits, destroying things, etc.

It's NEVER the video game, in order for a person to do what causes this, is all on them because THEY think that THEY can go out and do it

Some people become violent after seeing a violent act. It doesn't matter if it's a video game, movie, or real life. They just like it and want to do it.

Games commonly get people to become moody (angry) during and after play. It's just what competition does to people. You are trying to beat another player or even the computer. Kids nowadays are taking that attitude to a different level.

I don't think you an blame games though. They can create anger, but the situation is still the individual's to deal with.

I agree completely that it is ridiculous that people directly try to link common violent themes to video games. There are countless other factors that contribute to violence.

However, I also agree that video games can contribute these violent tendencies. You can not say that these games do not influence certain violence, because they do.

There are also billions of other things in the world that do the same thing. Games contribute, but are not the cause.

Is that what you do? I've never seen someone do this in real life.

The only time I think a video game makes someone violent(And this goes for movies,tv,computer games) is if they can't get through their head that it's a game and not real. They forget what's real and think that whatever they where playing or watching is how life should be. I've played video games my whole life from running through stages on Sonic,Mario to playing Pokemon(Yes I used to play Pokemon and still kinda do), all the way up to FPS games. I haven't gone out and killed people from playing video games because I know what's real and what's fake. Let's be honest here so many kids want to join the Military or something after playing COD or any FPS for the matter, well guess what after you die your not going to press a button and boom your back alive. I can't tell you how many times I have heard little kids on COD saying they're going to join the Military because it looks cool. First they don't even know what training they do in the Military or what goes on in a war zone they think they will be running around like they do in the games(I have heard multiple people say they would just run around instead of sitting behind cover,I haven even heard some people say they will quick scope in the army)

Sometimes they can. It depends how deep you immerse yourself into the game world i suppose. Based on a study done at Yale, People tend to pick up on activities they see or hear about. Lets say your not the most popular dude or dudet and your game is your only outlet.. The child would try to find a way to blend the gaming world with the real world to get a balance in their life.

I see where they are going... But no video games are just for fun, and everyone knows it. Video games might urge people to join the military though. I see that alot.i was playing the walking dead video game the other day and my mom can in. I'm sitting there bashing a zombies head with a screw driver and she freaked out. She was like I don't wanna see that! I was thinking mom it's a game.... Get over it.
