two consoles can do system link and be on any dash. you jtag could be on the first dash for all it matters and it would still be able to system link with your retail on the latest dash. so no, you won't have to update the dash.

jtag's arent only for hosting lobbies they can be used to get free games (which i wouldnt recommend doing) and you can also run emulators to play nintendo 64 games and even super nintendo games

last night i hosted mw2 $5 for 2 cl and,
mw3 was same price, i made last night $25 on mw2 and mw3 $13 some kid didnt have five dollars so i did for $3
in total i made $38 and soon i will be doing recoveries on blops2 & gowj for the people that want epic reaper..

also jtag was made for offline & online modding , my 1st jtag was on xbox 1 , but back then was easier because it was offline split screen halo 2 but any way,

he can go online on a normal kv , if he is playing mw2 it could last for days, if you want to host mw3 i recommend buying xbls

you can make mony back on system like i got a jtag for $95 and iv mad about &150 back from doinf recoverys.
