Which OS do you prefer? If you have used all of these, what do you not like about the other choices?

1. Windows XP
2. Windows 7
3. Windows 8
4. Mac OS X
5. Linux

I know XP and Linux aren't the latest and greatest OS's but if you have used these i would like to hear your opinion seeing as i have used all of these in my vocational classes.

XP is outdated so should be out of the runnings.
Windows 7 nice interface and user friendly, sort of like Vista.
Windows 8 should be kept to portable devices like tablets and phones, my opinion.

It would be better for you to add a poll.

I have tried all, and currently have a Hackintosh, Win 8 and Ubuntu Linux 13.04 on one machine.

I can say hands down that I HATE Mac. It's like a cheap version of Linux.

Windows 8 is just 7 with a new face, the performance optimizations for SSD's are my favorite part of it.

However I primarily use Ubuntu as I like the Linux backend, and it just seems so much more responsive on my hardware than Windows.

Bit ironic as it is a fully free OS

Windows 7.5! or as the noobs will call it windows 8

windows 8 works greate and with the startisback program you will get a start botton in the left corner aswell as you will get right to the desktop without going in to the modern ui
and thats why its windows 7.5 its windows 8 with a start botton

Was 7, but I took the plunge and moved to 8, however used startisback to get it running basically the same as windows 7.

It's now a newer, more polished windows 7, which is also 10x quicker for bootup.
