Hey guys,
Being the person i am (more time than sense) I wanna try out Linux as many say its nice to use and right now i think most things would be better than windows in terms of stability.
I was wondering what you guys would suggest for a first time user of linux as i've never ever used it before. I'll be installing it on a free internal drive so thats storage sorted. I've got an education in computing so even if its not the most user friendly i should be okay i suspect but when it comes to linux i dont really know anything.
Any suggestions will help <3

If you're up for a nice experience that will pay off with great customization, have a look at ubuntu. Mint is great for inexperienced users looking for a simplified, free os.
If you're up for the challenge however, get gentoo.

Lucritius wrote I highly recommend Linux Mint. You can download the 32 bit edition from [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Or if you have a 64 bit PC you can download that from [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Thanks i saw Mint a while ago i thought it looked really nice. Is it as simple as burning an ISO and installing? Also does it have a bootloader so i dont have to select which drive to boot to?

Yeah go with mint or ubuntu. When you have used it a lot, try arch. it will really teach how linux works. If you want to be a 1337 h4x0r then install gentoo.

Not as a proper release. You can get it, but it's like being able to put Mac OSx on a Windows computer. Unless I've been asleep for a few years, which is most likely the case.
