Try to ask r00t in SB or wait till he posts you a monster build on here, Also include what all you'll be using it for.
What kind of monitor? 1080p? 2ms response time? size?
Gaming mouse/keyboard or standard?
Windows 7/8? 32/64 bit?
just some starters.

hell.. i bought a quad core processor 8 gb of ram
amd phenom ii x4 955 processor with 3.20 ghz from tigerdirect for like 400$ then spent like 200 dollars on a new power supply and a new graphics card.. so.. you can get them pretty cheap there. Runs alot of the newer games pretty fast and there hasnt been a game i couldnt run yet so its working out good.

Sorry about being over budget but the monitor is 1/4 of the price. Anyways it should tackle COD with a high FPS on High settings

Try shortening HDD size to 500GB so you can add a 120GB SSD

I have a few questions that are very important to the cost of the gaming PC.
If you already have a HDTV for Xbox/PS3 there's normally a PC jack.
This can take a lot of the current cost of the PC. Another thing is I would highly recommend not getting a gaming mouse because honestly, for a first time PC user it's not worth it. It's a lot cheaper to just have a standard keyboard and mouse. It works perfectly fine. If you really want one you can just buy one later. If you can tell me if you already have a HDTV for yourself then look on the back of it and if it has something like this: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
then you can use that. Also unlike what the other person said, I honestly don't think it would really be worth having a SSD.
Another thing I want to ask is: what do you mean by build you a PC? Do you want us to literally buy the parts build it then send it? Or do you want us to tell you parts for building a PC yourself? I'm guessing you don't have a key on the back of your PC for windows 7 too. It's $100 more for windows 7. He also didn't add a keyboard or mouse. Please reply.

SSDs can really speed up boot times and game loading. Google it
EDIT:
Also nowadays most graphics cards have a HDMI port so a VGA port on the TV will not be needed.

Yes, I know both those things. Game loading and boot up is not vital to true gaming at all though. VGA has less latency than HDMI due to HDTV's automatically shutting off all extra video options which helps greatly in latency. Although it depends on the persons opinion too. If he thinks having his PC boot up faster is worth the extra money then sure. I personally think it's not worth the money at all. I'm not stupid and I have built my own gaming PC, so don't think I wouldn't know.
EDIT: Actually, load times could benefit you depending on the game. For COD, it wouldn't be worth it though IMO.
EDIT: The build infinite said is better. I'm personally an Intel fan but either would work fine (The 3570k is quite good, I definitely would recommend it. Not saying the AMD one is bad, I'm not that great with AMD CPU's).
