Still the wrong section...

He isn't ranting...

But he is getting mad because there are "little" kids on here.

I'm not getting mad or anything. I was just sharing my experiences here. I'm not mad over the whole thing I was just stating my experiences on TTG and how some things could be improved that's all. A mod can move this to the correct section if need be but I felt it would be better here in the general discussion thread to be discussed about to other members and this is something in general I guess

The reason alot of members seem or act childish is because alot of members are just that...children. If I had to guess i'd say the average TTG user is 14 or 15. Im not much older than that myself but, honestly, what kind of civilized debate or thought provoking discussion CAN you have with a 15 year old.

If TTG were a community based on anything other than gaming/modding it would be a totally different, more mature community. I don't think making TTG any stricter would help make it a better community as much as it would drive away members.
One thing I think that could help TTG have less spam or pointless posts in general is getting rid of ranks. People wanting to go up in site rank or try to get a badge just encourages posting even if that posting is completely unrelated to modding or gaming. I mean just look at all the posts in General Discussion compared to any other section except for the COD section.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

You can't just get rid of them... Look at it this way, if you didn't have leechers/lurkers on this site, there would never be "Trusted Sellers" or "Moderators".

The ranks and everything on here are somehow related to the little kids on the site.

I guess you have to remember, the majority of this website is based upon video games (as well as technology), and I think the majority who play video games are mid-teens. So this website does cater to quite a young audience.

My best advice would be to associate yourself with the members you get on well with, and avoid those who set out to flame and annoy.

I sort of agree with the zero tolerance but I wouldn't like it so strict but I would want some more reinforced rules. I hate the way people act on here sometimes and I hate the way people are just let off with things.

You have a lot of valid points in this. I felt that making in stricter in a sense would basically tell members that if you screw around that you won't be on the site long. I also feel they should take away ranks but to further that I believe they should let go of posts count. It's a good way to gauge how many posts you have on a site but I feel as if some members feel more superior because they have more posts over another person.

I also stand by my point of their being more staff such as section moderators to watch over the forum. I rarely see staff around here, I could be wrong and they could be behind the scenes watching over the site but I feel as if more should be shown that they are there to provoke some things happening in topics where you see endless flaming for no reason whatsoever.
