Inkz wrote Is it true that Windows 8 isn't successful? I really would like to have Windows 8 instead of 7. I'm kind of bored of Windows 7.

Windows 8 is made for tablets IMO. I have it but again it very hard to find programs. I mean yea you can use the "search" button on the right, but it takes you out of your desktop to search it.

However, windows 8.1 is suppose to address all of these issues. BTW, do anyone knows when 8.1 will be released?

Windows 8 is basically Windows 7 with a bunch of stuff added that you don't need or even use

The main app page is made for tablets and phones and xbox's, NOT computers, imho.

But the desktop is pretty much the same, all the people complaining about there being no start button obviously don't know much about using and modifying an OS since it's pretty damn simple to install a third-party 'start button' that is MUCH better than even the previous windows start buttons (<3 pokki)

But yeah, it runs some games better, starts up and shuts down quicker, looks sleeker, goes to sleep/wakes up faster, plus I like the more futuristic look

Windows 8 is a vastly upgraded operating system from windows 7. 8.1 fixes many issues, concerns, and feedback that consumers gave. There is a start menu in 8.1, and you can choose to boot straight to desktop mode if you choose. Performance is increased in desktop applications, and some games. Upgrading to 8 is definitely worth it.

AKIOWNED wrote Windows 8 is amazing, if you know how to use a PC

There IS a "star" button (I think he meant the windows button), it's called Pokki, an awesome add-on you can install to the desktop which is just like the windows button only better

You can also customize it in a tonne of other ways, and much more than windows 7

You can also pin apps like facebook, youtube and email to the taskbar that open in their own window

I mainly use the desktop, but the main start page (with the app boxes and stuff) are useful sometimes, for news and maps and the store, it's basically the same as the Xbox 360 homepages, just with more PC-based apps

It is a lot more complicated than Win8 (much much more stuff) but also much better in my opinion (after customization) the standalone windows 8 as you get it kinda sucks, but you can do so much with it to tailor it to your liking

I knew I wasn't the only one to put my game shortcuts to the right hand side!!
