If you are looking for the console that can record, I would go with the PS4 because it can record in HD and you can record all the amount of footage that you would like. The feature is also free unlike the xbox one which you have to pay to access the limited recording. I'm not saying this because I am a playstation fanboy, in fact, I'm switching over from xbox to Ps.

It also has the button right on the controller which is very handy

If he's going to record he's probaly going to be recording multiplayer gameplay. Which he needs PS+ for, so decorating being behind a paywall on the X1 doesn't mean much. The Xbox One also had HD recording, so what's your point?

You don't know that for sure. He could record Single Player. Also PS4 is cheaper and you can record longer on console. He was not saying that the xbox can't do that stuff. He was saying that the PS4 does more with recording console wise. If he plans on recording more than 15 minutes then it doesn't matter which console he gets. This is why I am going to PS4 because most of the XBOne Fanboys jump to conclusion or are like 13 years old.

The PS4 can record longer the the XbOne. It would depend what you are wanting to record and for how long. Not sure if Microsoft can bump up the recording time on XbOne without effecting something else.

You would have to look at console features and benefits.

XBL more expensive, has earlier released content, skype, etc...

PS Plus less expensive, a lot more discounted content, more better free games, content is released later then XBL, etc...

I have owned and played both consoles for a long while, Xbox 360 more then PS3, and I like both consoles mainly the Xbox 360 because it has party chat but since its coming to PS4 I prefer that more. Up to you!
