Hi, basically i ave 2 xbox's, which are irritatingly broken.
I have a slim that is console banned. And an original Elite (120gb) with a disk tray that refusing to read disks 99% of the time.
Im assuming that it is a disk tray fault, and so im wondering:
Can i take the disk tray out of my slim and connect it to my fat one. I know it wont fit in properly but if i leave my case open will it work?
Also if not will a regular replacement disk tray fix it?

It wont work, you cant swap drives the new or working drive will have to be flashed to work . you can get your drive repaired or get a new one and flash it, good luck

They aren't compatible sadly. I have the same issue, i was told to open the drive and slide the laser to the middle.
A small fix i use is spamming A on the dashboard "so let it slide in and out for like 20 seconds really fast". Turning off my xbox while the tray is opening helps a little as well.
