Dr-J wroteLycosDevanos wroteXclusive198 wrote Yes, I would run out of content. It would be one thing if it were 5-10 bucks, but if they really believe I'm going to pay an extra 15 bucks a month on top of having to buy XB1/XBL/ES0 Game then they are mistaken.
I bet you within the first few months they will change their price. I'm sure some people are willing to pay that extra money, but I am not one of those and know quite a few who are unwilling to spend 200 bucks yearly to play ESO on top of the $500+ for new console/XBL/Game
You would not run out of content due to them bringing out content every single month. As they have stated, and I've reposted numerous times, the subscription fee is to fund the cost of making new content. Its either have a low $15/month payment or charge you about $30 per month just to download DLC. So if you go with their current plan, you wouldn't run out of content as they'd keep it restocked. However if they change their plan and give it to us for free, we'd then have to pay double the fee just to get the monthly DLC to have more content.
Simple decision is to pay and enjoy or don't pay and ignore the game, but there is no need to complain. Also its not $200 yearly, if you buy bulk then its cheaper. Like how XBL is, the base price is $10.95 a month, but if you buy a year subscription its not $132, its only $75 or somewhere near there.
But I have to ask this: If your so wanting to play, why not just make it like WoW and get it for PC, then you'd only have one fee to pay.
The question is what type of content will it be?
Read the interview, its stated in there. The content will be new quests, new dungeons, new guilds like Dark Brotherhood, Mages Guild etc, new weapons, new armour, new spells etc. Essentially the new content will be expansions like in WoW, if this was a normal game like Skyrim it'd be things like DLC like Dragonborn or Shivering Isles etc.

I got into the beta, and as of right now it really isn't anything special. I know it's obviously still in beta and they're still going to implement a lot of things/improve some of the existing things, but it's nowhere near $15 a month worthy at this moment and I honestly don't see it getting to that point.

Would you say WoW is worth $15 a month? Cause that's the cost and honestly I've played WoW and its crap, but its still charging that. And as they said in the interview, the charging isn't for how the game is, its for the release of new content.

The fact that people are actively trying to defend a $15 p/m price tag is mind boggling and this is coming form someone who played WoW for 6ish years. There is absolutely no redeeming quality to an MMO in this day and age that would warrant such a pricetag when you can literally just look around the corner and find something incredibly similar that's F2P. I'm starting to think that it's nothing more than brand loyalty that's making people do it.
You're delusional if you actually believe that.

I'll start with this post since its shorter: Of course WoW is worth $15 a month and I don't even PLAY WoW (or like it)... but guess what, if you were to start a new WoW account from right now, it would be MONTHS before you were anywhere close to end-game, if not much longer. The cost is relative to the amount of work they put in to develop the game.
What ESO is doing, is forcing people to pay a massive sum to help develop the game. That makes no sense economically. So all I have to do is not pay anything, wait for the game to be finished, then pay for it If I decide it is worth it.
And the fact you think there will be almost near endless content...just makes me laugh. You are gonna get into a week of ESO and run out of cool shit to do... yeah, more content... whatever. If adding in more generated dungeons and the same monsters count as updates and new content than LOL.
If they wanted people to help develop the game, they would of asked for 5-10 bucks from every ESO player... I can tell you right now that $15 price tag is going to ruin their "development"
So what happens when no one wants to pay that massive price tag? Not everyone wants to pay for a year if they are skeptical on the game anyway. Do they just stop developing the game because they run out of money?

Yep, its only gonna be die hard fans. As much as I love elder scrolls, I don't love it enough to pay out of the ass for it. Does not appeal to average gamers at all.

I think some casual ES fans will do it, If they know there will be a lot of extra stuff in the future
