Not trying to sound harsh but most of the people should not loose this right because of some people.

There are tons of psychopaths and lunatics out there. I live in the Chicagoland area and every night on the news I hear about gun violence, stabbings, and all sorts of terrible things.
We need to be able to protect ourselves and our family! We are taking guns away from the innocent and giving them to murderers. Even if they outlawed guns you could just get one off the black market anyways. We might as well be able to protect ourselves.

The gun is good I have yet to see a firearm jump up and shoot anyone! There is always a person behind the firearm doing the deed, not the firearm. Todays society has no fear of the law or the penalties that will follow if they commit a violent crime. A person committing a violent crime knows he may get life on prison or maybe even a death penalty, but they also know they will die of old age instead of being executed. Look at the prisons in other countries! Ours are like resorts compared to the. Check out Russia's Max security prisons. The facts show that if firearms are taken from honest people the criminals will still get their hands on them. Watch the news because they are smuggled in from Mexico every day. Instead of trying to ban an object that is harmless by itself why not fix the real problem which is the lack of security. Very few schools have a security program in place. Security guards walk through metal detectors and closed campuses would have prevented this from happening. Another area to blame is the media because it plasters these events across every news paper and TV screen on the planet but never give the actual facts. First thing a news station does in go on the air only minutes after the tragedy has happened and start giving false facts. Even the police need a few days to gather all the facts so how can anyone believe the media has got all the facts that quick? An example is this last shooting at the elementary school. The

either way the government cant do anything about it..its like drugs ! its illegal but you can still get it. thats exactly what will happen with guns if theyre banned.

The people who argue otherwise are deluded and don't give me your constitutional right pish because basing your view on that is like me saying that it is OK to start forcing prisoners to fight in a huge arena for public viewing(for the historically oblivious people, I am talking about the roman empire). I could guarantee you that not one of you could give a good reason for the right to bear arms that I can't counter with a better reason to not have the right to bear arms.

we still have right to bear arms and always will. im in florida and once im 21 im getting a license to carry. ima put it this way.. my life isnt gonna end because of some robbery etc. im going to fight!

- Criminals by definition break the law and banning guns will not stop people from having them. All law-abiding citizens by definition follow the law and therefore would not own guns. Sick and twisted, isn't it?
- Fear != danger. The fact that people don't feel safer in the presence of those who are legally carrying weapons is illogical.
- Who do we call when we need bad guys with guns put down? Good guys with guns.
- Shootings take place in "gun-free" zones because shooters view them as easy targets. Again, criminals by definition break the law.
- An armed society is a polite society.
- Your analogy makes no sense.

1. I did not once say that it would stop crime.
2.You said "who do we call......Good guys with guns". You miss the point that a society without guns would not require "good guys with guns" to stop "Bad guys with guns" as guns become more difficult to find, for your average criminal.
3. You say that "an armed society is a polite society". Nobody said that people had to be armed with guns though.
4. My analogy makes perfect sense as I am giving you an example of using an old and ultimately out of date view that people follow with your constitution stupid.

The fact you believe that people should be able to obtain guns with the ease that the US allows is plain stupidity. No society will be free of crime but you can aid the suppression of it by removing the likes of guns.
