I think we do. I mean if we ban guns all civilians are with out self protection, and if we do ban them criminals won't care! Their criminals for a reason they will shoot people if they want to. Also Gangs won't stop using them either.

NewYorkYankees wrote I don't even think this is a legitimate question. Of course we should have the right to bare arms. Before you go crazy on my opinion.. just read.

One of the main things this country runs on.. is the bill of rights. The Bill of Rights clearly states "the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Obviously, the only people that should not be allowed to use guns are criminals. Even though they are considered people, and still have rights.

The problem is, the Government is trying to take away one of our main rights, and as it clearly states "shall not be infringed." Even if they were to take the right away, what stops criminals from getting guns anyways? If they're doing something illegal, what do they care about laws about gun control? Zip, nada, nothing.

So yes, we should have the right to bear arms. Not just for self defense, but because it's our right.

1. I don't see how the question wouldn't be legitimate..... At all. Simply asking whether or not the users of TTG believe we should or should not have the right to "bare arms".
2. The Constitution is a "living document" and anything in it can be either left alone or changed.

Note: I have still remained neutral on the subject. Just wanted to say those few things...

Every citizen of the US has the right to defend his or her home. We can't be dependent on the government to do it for us. Things will get ugly really quickly in America if the government makes a move to remove our gun rights.

No, from a neutrals perspective I don't think you should. Guns are the cause and solution to a problem, which means it's an endless cycle. Take the gun out of the equation and you remove the cause.

The mass shooting in DC has shown that even when given a background check, mentally unstable people can still be sold guns.

People are going to say yes, but think about it, even if they did do something like ban guns ect... people would still get them on the black market and other places and a lot of people do feel that they should have the right to own a gun to defend themselves. I personally hate guns and any kind of weapon.

I think we should have the right because what if someone robs your house when you are in it what are you going to throw something at him/her no I think you some have the right to have a weapon to defend yourself

Nope. Nobody should be able to carry a weapon unless you are a law enforcer.

Therefore you would become a criminal and the sort of people you don't want to get easy access to weapons.
