It is true that we only use 10% of our brains, at any ONE time. We use nearly all of our brains, but not at all times. If you used 100% of your brain at one time, it would be a complete waste of energy, as different parts of our brains are responsible for different things.

We only use 10% of our brains at any one time, because we only need to use 10% of our brains at any one time.

This is more than un-agreeable to me. Only using 10% of our brain is the most wrong thing you can say, especially in this context.

There is mental abilities by focussing on, but only using 10%? No.
There would be people able to use it all, and we'd have some strange world going on.
You use all of it, but not all of your brain is used for storage and intelligence, remember that.
