Open or closed? You don't have very many closed options that fit exactly in your price range (I can either go below with the V-Moda M100, tell you to research the Shure SRH1540, which I haven't heard, or tell you to shoot straight up to the Ultrasone Signature DJ at $900.) If you can deal with open, you could go for the Hifiman HE400 plus an amp, but you'd have to stretch a little with the amp.

Budget:$500
Type: Over Ear and Closed
Music: Hip Hop, Rock, Dubstep
( I want something that will give me a good "bass" sound but won't overpower the "treble" sounds.)
Devices: Phone(Android,Laptop,PC)
Wear: Something comfortable and durable. Also, something that wont hurt my ears after long duration's of wearing the headphones.

Thanks,
-Origins-

I think you should lower your budget and the the V-Moda M100 and maybe XL pads if your ears are on the larger side.

This is probably more for r00t's interest than anyone else's, but look what Hifiman's releasing!

They're lighter, more efficient, and the HE560 is made of wood again. Downside, the HE560 is $899. I don't know why I'm still tempted.

Looks comfy, I like the headband change.

Speaking of comfy, I've been very seriously looking at selling what I have and getting the Sony MA900. It seems to be something you would like.

Also, I haven't been keeping up with the "headphone game" very much. Thanks for picking up my slack.

I actually like the MA900 a good bit; it has better soundstage than the K701 but more engaging sound. I'd do it. And yeah no problem! I've been sick over break so I've had nothing better to do in between reviews, hah.

this isn't a request but more of a question on your opinion:

I just got a pair of sol republic v8's and I was wondering what your opinions were on them.

I mostly listen to rock and metal, but some dubstep and rap/hip-hop.

I listen from my ipad mini, do you think these were a good choice? I really like the sound quality I was just wondering what you guys thought about them.

If you like them, our opinion shouldn't matter.
