The average temperature is actually 80 degrees.

actually the average is in the upper 60-70's 80 is a bit to warm hence why its red on the indicators.

It depends if its a slim or not. If its a slim 75+ is abnormal but it is normal for a fat to be above that. I just replaced my thermal paste on my phat ps3 and it still goes to 80

Thats still high my fat idles at 55 and stays below 80 when running. I even changed my fan settings to go to workload to avoid it getting that hot. You should never let a cpu continuously be at that temp. I also have a Fat Ps3 so thats not the reason.

I think mine needs a thermal paste changing under the ihs then because it idles at 80 lol. I can turn up the fan speed but I keep it cooling with A/C. Every single one of my ps3's that are fat have the same problem for overheating. I just don't have the tool neccesary to open to CPU IHS.

Yeah you should try to get that fixed ASAP i slacked on getting my pc fixed with this issue and now the CPU is dead
