Voglia wrote Hey man, sweet car! Subarus are just pure gold in every aspect. They're beautiful and powerful. I saw you mentioned that the subie hatches aren't respected around your area.. that's just baffling. I'm kind of intrigued as to what people around your area respect then.

I know around my area, since I live in the country, we have jacked up trucks. But in town, our most common car is the rough looking slammed civics. Most of the ones I see are unkept (dents and dings), paints peeling, lowered, etc. What gets me is, they have enough money to install coil overs and have some nice rims. But can't fix the the appearance of the car, so it doesn't look like they just rolled off a junkyard.

Sorry to go off, it's just I barley see any nice looking Subies,Evos,GTI,TDI,etc. I would love to see a nice Hawkeye rolling down the street, maybe every month. Right now, I get so excited when I see a stock forester, just because no one likes subarus around here. So I know the pain. But all will change for me this summer; I plan on buying a nice Hawkeye, and hoping to do some modifications (maybe STi conversion!?!?).

But again, nice as* car bro. Keep good care of her, and don't go too wild when driving. Don't want to see a totaled Subaru.. brings a tear to my eye.

Thanks man! I appreciate it! Hatchbacks here are like considered chick cars. Kinda BS cause I have a lot of respect for hatches but I am very happy with the sedan still! And trust me, I have those exact cars you explain by me too!

As to an STi conversion, I am not entirely sure on all the changes but the biggest ones are the 6 speed transmission and brembo brakes all around. You can't do a full STi conversion of course due to the small things like the dashboard and some other stuff but you can get it pretty close. It'll just cost you a few pretty pennies. And if you get an 08+ WRX then the STi and WRX are pretty different due to the SI drive modes and split differentials. The WRX is truely a great car to and I wouldn't worry about trying to make it an STi. Goodluck getting it man, I hope to see it on this page one day

Yeah, due to my age (18), acquiring even a WRX would be rough in terms of insurance/monthly payment rates. That would be my reason for swapping certain STi parts into the WRX. Didn't mean a full STi conversion, because a full conversion would over the cost than just buying a STi in the first place. But I've been on a hunt the past few months, looking on various sources, for a WRX within my price range. I wouldn't mind even getting a bugeye, and then swapping some parts into it. But I've been working at the same job almost a year and I have been saving for that whole year. Barley spending anything. Plus, i'm going to get a second job for the summer, and work more than 40 hours. Because as I've been telling everyone, This Car Is Happening This Summer.. I just want that feeling of driving next to someone and looking at their facial expression while they think "damn thats a nice car."

Thanks for the response man!

Sounds like youre gonna be pretty set for the summer! I don't know where you are but for me you can find a pretty decent 04 WRX for about 8k or an 02 STi for about 8-10k. It feels great especially when you pull up next to a fellow subie owner!

Lower it, get rid of the stock intake, upgrade the exhaust you'll have an even better looking car! I love Subies!

Wanna loan me a few thousand for those mods then? Exhaust I plan on getting soon but lowering it isnt gonna come for awhile. I'm not gonna go cheap on the suspension so its gonna take a few thousand. I already talked to a well known Subaru performance shop and they said in Florida (where I am) when it rains heavy and sometimes when you hit a large puddle, the water can get sucked into the intake and hydrolock (blow) the engine. They recommend only going as far as upgrading the air filter. They said that an intake is good but doesn't make much of a noticable difference.

Haha trying to set myself up for it. Just the complications because of my age. On NASIOC, I found a 02 WRX located in my state, 96k miles WRX (with STi stuff). But it had a leak in the exhaust. Which ain't a problem to fix, but it's 10k.. Which ain't too bad, considering I could get it down to 9k probley. But ill just wait on it for a bit, and see what else I can find. But thanks for the info man, just nice to talk to a Subie owner.

I might check that site out. I really want a 2.5rs. If it's the right price i'll buy one.

What shop?

Just curious if it's the same one I go to, since they mainly do subbies.
