The title says it all I see people saying the pentium is really good,I think it's all a lie.How can a G3258 be as good as any quad core CPU?

Because most tasks still are not threaded well enough to make use of more than two (or even one) core/thread. The Pentium has ridiculous per-core performance, which is unheard of for the price.

Don't forget, the Pentium is great when overclocked and in games can compete with i5 and i7's

I though this whole "pentium" thing was a troll but it's only good if it's overclocked and not many people know how to overclock.

You couldn't be more wrong son!!

The Pentium is a great processor even when it's at stock speeds. I have one myself and have yet to overclock it. It does everything I need it to. Including playing BF4 on high at 1080p, playing CSGO for long periods of time, general tasking/browsing. Use BF4 on high as a benchmark for the CPU. It's brilliant for 50 quid, I got it and a Z97-G45 for like 130 quid it's crazy.

Oh and it performs MUCH better than my overclocked FX6300.

It's good stock, too. The Anandtech link I posted compares it at stock to an Athlon X4 750K, which is $10 more and a quad-core.

Not at all. The CPU won't bottleneck a 760, it's hard to bottleneck CPU/GPU's these days, unless you pair old tech with new...

I don't think a G3258 would even bottleneck a 780. You'd have to go for something crazy like a 295X2 for it to bottleneck.

If I could afford a new CPU, Pentium would be in my life right now. I have heard too much about it to turn one down as it seems to be a strong contender even with more expensive CPUs.
