Like I said in my previous post where I have addressed exactly that, most Muslims hold the verses which tell them to love their fellow man, and not to kill, in higher regard.

I believe that much of the Quran and even the Bible has been lossed in translation and meaning throughout the course of history. Many rulers/emperors at the time of these religions would change what it said/interpreted into what they thought was right.

Because of ignorance. One thing we Americans are very good at, is making generalizations. People hear about terrorist attacks being committed by Muslim groups so by connection, all Muslims are terrorists. Truth is, just like in Christianity, there are many sects within the Muslim religion. The vast majority of Muslims are moderate people that want to live their lives to please Allah. A very small minority of Muslims are extremists and believe their religion is supreme and condemn anyone who believes different. These are the kinds of Muslim extremists you hear about on TV. Most Muslims are tolerant, and good people. The vast majority of Christians are accepting people that love other people, but unfortunately, when people hear about instances for example Westboro Baptist Church, everyone assumes that ALL Christians (and all baptists) believe what they do and that is NOT true. This generalization pandemic, when applied to issues like gay marriage, abortion, and other political matters, becomes a religion war, and to me that is absolutely ridiculous. Each person has a different opinion even if two share the same religion, they are free and entitled to their different opinions. I've learned to treat each person as a new blank piece of paper to build a new relationship. I truly find happiness in that. I know I went on a tangent, but I hope this helps.
