I know a kid that did this, technically he's still in grade 9 because he never went to school (literally, never, he didn't show for all of high school) and he still lives at home and plays video games all day constantly. It's sad to see people throw their life away.

got around 24 Fs in my high school career, graduated with a 2.03 GPA, skipped school for just about every video game release, even the betas... Ive been a working male since the 9th grade, making around 10 dollars an hour currently working full time at a place I actually love and plan on making it a career. So your post isnt geared towards everyone buddy.

Don't see a problem in skipping 1 day of the year for a release tbh.

This is kinda what he was getting at. His point was a real career with a degree. I wouldn't consider $10 an hour as a career. With a full work week you're making maybe $20,000 a year? Where a degree can make you $50,000+ a year starting out.

Sanctyy wrote Lol, okay. Going to school doesn't promise you a "future job: you make money: have a nice home: all that is worth a life time".

In fact, if anything, going to school just means you'll probably go to college/university after school and waste another 4 or so years at education. Then after that, you're not promised a job. Most people who go to college or university, when they finish, find out that in fact, there aren't many jobs. So, yeah. Plus, missing a single day of school isn't going to do any harm, why is that any of your business anyway?

Going to school opens the door to those jobs in which you can. Doctors make a lot of money because in return, they probably spent $600,000 on their education, and an extra 12 years in school. Thats what it does.

Life's a lesson, I believe we learn from everything we do. If you miss school and don't get the grades you want, at least you have to opportunity to go do them again. It's all about taking risks. To be successful you've got to take risks, they don't always work, majority of the time they don't. But at least you learn and pick yourself up and say ' Okay now I have to do thi.'

A know a few people who skipped school for cod but yet they have outstanding grades. If you are not doing so good in school like I was and skipped a few days to play a new game they yea thats not right. Thank god I passed HS though.

im not making 10$ an hour as a carrer, ive been working at this place for around 1 and half years starting at 8$. I think 2 dollar raise in barely 2 years is pretty decent... The point I was getting at was that I will be making this my carrer, my manager dropped out of highschool, got a ged and is now the manager making 60k+ a year. Sure going to college can raise the likely hood of getting paid more, yeah yeah yeah... But its not for everyone.

Staying home from school just to play a video game is ridiculous. Why can't people just wait to play it?

In my school people will probably miss a week of school just to play Advanced Warfare. They did for GTA V and Destiny.

I do this I skip college and play games all day. You can't stop me. Schools for fools. Just think logically people have been living, having sex, learning, and going to schools for thousands of years, but only now in the year 2014 will I have the opportunity to play Call of duty Advanced Warfare. No man can say the same, so I am better than Leonidis, Spartacus, Abe Lincoln, Washington, and William Wallace. I shall seize the moment and play 24/7 for I am chosen, better than the caveman, better than all who came before the great Don of Cod!
