A few year's ago I saw an old man with an oxygen tank standing at an intersection asking for money to pay for his oxygen. A few days later I see the same man walking out of a gas station lighting a cigarette. I ask him "Shouldn't you not be smoking? Besides the fact you're on oxygen that stuff his highly flammable correct?". He then says to me "Oh no man I'm not actually on oxygen I just use this as a prop.". I've had various other encounters with the homeless similar to this and that's why I don't give them money. I'm a very generous person at heart and will gladly buy them food or clothing if they truly need it but, I won't be made a fool by them. Not to mention the area I live in made it illegal to give them money recently.

It depends because most of the time I do yes, I give them whatever loose change I have (most ever 5gbp worth of pennies etc) If it's a young adult who looks like they're going to use it for drugs then I'll avoid it. If it's a child (only once, I gave him 2gbp) I know it's not much but every little helps really.

So yes I give money to homeless people if I feel they are actually in need rather than out there just to take people's money for drugs.

Im homeless ! Can i get $200?

I don't give them money. I'd rather buy them something to eat or something they can actually use.

Why give the homeless money? They have no money for a reason.

Yes. I have given back to the homeless countless times. Probably adding up towards $500 as I know what it feels like. I've been there and it isn't fun. People look at you as if you are trash and walk by. I try my best to help out when I can. Except this one guy that told me off. Here is the story below if you want to read it.

I was driving to an intersection and I saw a man there holding a sign saying that he was homeless and hungry. Well, I didn't have cash on me at the time so I went home and made him a sandwich so he could at least have the feeling of food in his stomach for a while. I bring him the sandwich and he refuses it because "he only wants money". I laughed and drove away.
