Gaming? General use? Editing?
EDIT: As for the driver problem updating windows doesn't relate to your GPU driver you will have to go to the Nvidia website and download the drivers, or in the box where you got your computer should be a disk with drivers on it.

Just locate the model of your GPU and download the drivers.
Thank you for this link! I'll check that now! My computer is primarily a Gaming computer. I'm a WoW Player.
If you decide to go ahead and get a New Graphics card, we will need to know your PSU(Make,Model,Wattage) and your Case make and model to check for compatibility.

As for my case, I'm not entirely sure. It's relatively big with a couple inner cooling systems. It's nice, However I don't remember the name :{

SEN wrote Nooo the 270 is a MUCH better card for the extra $20
the 740 is a really weak card.
looks like I'll be placing my order then! Thank you for your help. Do you see any other problems with my system? Or suggested upgrades? I know the CPU is relatively old but still works fine for me.

Hey so in my searches for upgrades and stuff, I came across a ASUS GT 640 for $80 on the local craigslist. I'm sure he could be talked down to around 50. Think it'd be an okay swap?

Think it'd be an okay swap?No. Almost 3 years old and extremely low end, ew. What happened to getting one of the GPUs recommended before? Also, what is your budget? $150 like this thread says or $100 like your new thread says? There aren't many 270x's out there for $150 unless it's after rebates, so if your budget is $150, you're looking at an R9 270. If your budget is $100, you're looking at an R7 260x.

For $160, you can get an R9 280;

Any 270x is going to be around the same price so no need to get a 270x when an R9 280 is the same price.
Or you could get a 270 for $135;

Well I was planning on dropping 150 into it, but somethings have come up and I'd like just a nicer, cheaper alternative. The 50-100 field is where I'd like to stay. Most likely ordering the 260x for 89 tomorrow. Thanks for the links and specifications!
