imgur wrote This is somewhat correct, shockingly.
LSD was made illegal because of the culture surrounding it, rather than the actual effects of the drug. It was associated with political activism against vietnam. Making it illegal was a way to turn these political activists into criminals, in the public eye, because LSD was associated with the counterculture

Or because we live in a society that is literally hooked on anti-psychotics and anti-depressants. People in that mental state are extremely susceptible to mental breakdowns and psychosis if they have a bad trip.
(More than 1 in 10 Americans are on anti-depressants)

This is all subjective as it has so many variables that I won't even go into, but more than 1 in 10 Americans would be physically unable to experience the effects from the chemical then.
Anti-Depressants are typically selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs.
Without looking into scientific research for specifics, LSD-25 basically floods serotonin, but if the reuptakes are inhibited, well, that serotonin is of no use.
So if the person has been on SSRIs regularly within the previous months, it's not going to work...
You'd run the risk of getting serotonin syndrome in a situation like that before you'd risk having a negative experience.
I was extremely vague with that, feel free to research it yourself if you're interested, I'm too lazy.
