Are you stuck on those subs? You can get A LOT better subs for the money you're going to spend on two type r's.

If you are set on those subs, I would pair those with a decently efficient amp.

Hifonics 2k or 2400
SoundQubed 2200
SAZ 2200
If you want something properly stable at lower voltage you can go with a brazilian board, possibly Taramps?

No I heavily suggest you DO NOT use capacitors. Why? Because they fuggin dumb and not good for your electrical.

Before I start to list some things, what is your budget?

The type r's you listed go for 300-350 online, but I don't know what you get them for.

As for an amp that can power all your speakers, yes.

They have 5/6 channel amps, but usually they aren't as powerful as a set mono block amp that would be solely dedicated to the sub(s).

I recommend two amps, one 4 channel for the speakers and one monoblock amp for you sub(s).

Nothing wrong with 2 15in alpine type r's. I had them in my suburban and it was loud. Do the whole put change on the roof and rattle it completely off. It'll be plenty loud enough for you. I'll say this I played it outside my dads restaurant that's a concert building and he came out thinking the air conditioner on the room was going bad.

Budget isn't a worry. Like I said, I get them for real cheap so if I told you a budget, we would be on two different pages.


I'm up for any brand suggestions but make sure they are main stream. I appreciate the time you are putting into this forum.

Over 50 pounds of sub with a 340 oz magnet, this thing will take whatever you throw at it.

If you want to spend a bit more you can get more power out of its older brother, the HDC4 model. Rated at 2000 rms but they've been known to handle 3500 constant with clean signal.

Rated at 2000 watts rms, this sub is a power house. Will basically eat everything under 2500-3000 watts rms.

The HCCA series has been subject to very little change over the years because of it amazing quality and design.

Conservatively rated at 1500 watts rms, buddy of mine has two of these in the 18 inch version and powers them at 3500 rms each sub. So you can see what I mean by "conservatively".

This sub is also very customizable.

This sub design, just like the orion, has been around for a very long time.
