So yesterday while installing my CPU into a new motherboard i dropped my AMD Athlon X4 860K on the floor and i manged to straighten the Pins and install the CPU but im getting 80 Degrees Celsius as a temperature at idle ??

not sure what to do any suggestions ?

Is the fan spinning? if not that's your problem.

But otherwise it's probably now faulty, I've dropped Intel chips for laptops and bent the pins back but they've been fine. Are you sure you didn't snap a pin off?

Also your FPS problem is probably being caused by this too.

FPS was an issue before i dropped it but all pins are there and fan is spinning so not sure i installed new thermal paste and it just evapourated with the heat

Shouldnt, i brought an FX-6300 of a friend and a couple of the pins were bent and it wouldn't go in the socket.

Faffed around with the CPU for a while with some tweasers and straightened the pins out and its fine, I've had absolutely no issues.

I Would assume its possible, but i doubt it, i wasn't too careful bending mine back and its still fine.

Have you looked into RMA'ing the CPU?

You say the thermal paste 'evaporated'? I would check again and reapply it.
