I've been taking mutant mass for a while now but its mainly a weight gainer and haven't seen great results in gaining muscle so can anyone suggest a good protein shake which can help to put on muscle faster?

I'm aiming to get my abs to show more but to also gain muscle at the same time as i don't want to be skinny as hell with visible abs but have no muscle anywhere else.
If anyone has any tips on a good protein shake or other supplement that can help with this I will happily +rep for any advice
And just to stop any comments along these lines, I know abs are made in the kitchen so I'm starting a new diet tomorrow which should help out a hell of of alot.
Thanks

I normally use C4 as a pre-workout. It's disgusting as hell but it definitely works. Then, during your workout, I would take a BCAA mix. They replenish the energy you're using, also providing your muscles with vitamins. Afterwards, I would take a whey protein shake with almond or skim milk, also mixing in some peanut butter. (You don't have to use peanut butter, just something with similar proteins.)

There may be multiple reasons for it seeming like it not working as you thought it would.

1.) Workout Routine.
- Workout level?
- High weight, low reps.. Low weight, high reps?
2.) Metabolism/Diet
- Calorie Intake?
- Meals per Day?

I am a Physical Therapy/Fitness Training major minor right now in college, and potentially help you, just need to know a little more information.

C4 Pre workout, no protein powder, eat lean meat, fish, or steak. You'll see the best results with real meat

I workout between 3-5 times a week with 20 minute cardio before weight training
I do a mixture of high weight low reps and pyramid sets so you could include low weight high reps as well
My calorie intake has been low lately as i am trying to get my rid of a bit of fat so my abs will show but i am now changing my diet
meals per day 3 but i am now changing to a 4-5 meal per day (healthy of course) as I've been told that this will help
I hope that the new diet I'm going on will help

Man when it comes to gaining muscle, your diet is everything, you've got to make sure you're putting in enough carbs, calories and protein each day! You can gain muscle easily without even having to buy shakes!

Zeds,

If it truly is mass that you are going for along with cutting the fat.. I would recommend that on the days you workout don't do cardio.. The reasoning behind that is that cardio is meant to raise the heart rate, and the higher the heart rate the more calories you are burning during your workout. So, doing cardio and trying to gain at the same time defeats the purpose, and is really just building strength.

For gains my motto even though it goes completely what i have been taught, but to me shows the most is "Eat big to get big" I eat 6 proportionate meals a day along with two 8oz protein shakes pre and post workout. ELIMINATE SUGARS! Im from the south so it was hard for me to eliminate sweet tea, but its a must. But all diets are different for different people.. depending on the metabolism.. If you get into a routine of eating your meals at the same time (or close to the same time) everyday its will also help speed metabolism up.

Supplements wise -- Im pretty natural myself. I don't take pre-workout because I've had alot of friends reach kidney failure because they dont know how to properly flush their kidneys out. Pre and Post workout I drink a 8oz bottle of Muscle Milk (milk or water) for best results take shake at least 15-20 mins after your workout. NOW if you want to see improvements extremely quick.. Creatine is great from making people look huge, it just adds water weight to your muscles to give it a "bigger pump" but i don't recommend it.

My workouts
- I workout 5 days a week, with 3 cardio sessions a week (1 is and early morning run 4-6 hours before a workout).
- Gains.. Always reach muscle failure on last set with light weight. (triple dropsets)
- Cardio.. High intensity (high heart rate) HR target is 150-170 bpm
- Nutrition.. 6 Meals about 2 hours apart. 40% carbs, 50% protein, 10% fats (roughly)
- Supplements.. Cookies & Cream Muscle Milk 2x daily (pre and post workout) BCAA's which are Amino Acids, and help aid in a quicker muscle recovery after your workout breaks them down. Also, drink half your weight in water daily.

Hope this helps man.. If you ever need any specific workout details, feel free to PM me, I would be happy to help.

IsoPure. Cleanest protein. I think GNC has it on sale unless that is just my local GNC.
