I am fairly new to the PC scene and I plan on building my first PC in the next few weeks. This is the build I am hoping to do, if you have any suggestions or improvements for the build that would be great. My budget for the build is £550 - £600

I assume you don't need peripherals as you didn't list them?
What will you be using the PC for?

Nope no peripherals needed. It'll mostly be used for gaming and light video editing.

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ] £4 over if you can.
Will be fine for gaming and editing. SSD for OS and a couple games varied on file size of course. Can add another 380 in XFire if you wish.

Im sorry, I know you have returned from your "holiday" but seriously; dropping a HDD and adding a terrible heatsink! What!

With games now coming in at 60+ GBs plus your OS, your going to run out of room super quick.

2GB of VRAM isn't really enough nowadays, it can make a huge difference in VRAM heavy games. SSD for OS and a couple of games.

It's cool that you like to talk your shit and act like you know what you're talking about. Considering stock cooler is satisfactory for stock clocks, a £15 cooler will easily do the job and if you think it won't, you're really going to need to educate yourself. The Gammaxx 300 is queiter than $50+ AIOs. OP could easily swap it for a TX3 if he wants. Plus, I never dropped the HDD to add "a terrible heatsink" but OP can quite easily drop the 250GB SSD and cooler for an HDD and 120GB SSD if he prefers. Fact is, however, a 250GB SSD and a cooler is a much better choice if OP can add an HDD soon.

2GB of VRAM is fine, and if you think getting a 4GB 380 will make a huge difference over a 2GB 380, you need to do some actual research and educate yourself. Also, "terrible heatsink" lmfao.

Can we quit it with the sarcasm. This section doesnt need it. I was simply pointing out where you went wrong.

Something like [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] would be better IMO. Has a 120gb SSD for OS, main programs and a game. Also has mass storage option in the form of a 1TB WD Blue HD to allow for mic storage like games, media and whatnot.

With a small library of games, I go well over 400gb of games. Not to mention 2tb of mechanical storage. It would make more sense to get a HD now and upgrade the cooler later if the OP wants to cool it better. You said yourself, the stock cooler is fine.

We sure can stop with the sarcasm, if you stop with the hypocrisy. I'm assuming you have no idea that I actually went on holiday, so don't get upset when I respond to your sarcasm with more sarcasm.

I never "went wrong" anywhere. What you meant was that you were pointing out changes you would personally make. I wouldn't go near the V300s personally, especially since a 120GB Fury is only £5 more. I did say that OP could drop the cooler and get a HDD with a smaller SSD. However, if you think the Gammax is a "terrible heatsink", you might want to look at performance tests, stock cooler is worse.

If OP can add an HDD asap, he's be better with the larger SSD and cooler for now. If not, yes, 1TB HDD, smaller SSD and stock cooler will do better. It'd also let him add a nicer cooler, like a Pure Rock at a later date. However, 1.1TB could still be fairly minimal. I've had a 250GB SSD and 2TB HDD with a 500GB external HDD for only a few months and am already running out of storage.
