So back to the original question, I can drive manual, and my question is. Do I get the 2013 or 14. I want v8 and 5.0 L.

This is 2015, not 1980. Think, the big Ford 460 (7.5L) V8 engine of the 70's only made 200-220 HP. The 3.7L V6 Mustang engine today makes 300 HP? V8 is going out of style. Who cares what they buy? They buy what they think looks nice and gets good mileage. My brother has a 2013 Mustang (3.7), and he doesn't race people, he has no need for the 5.0L engine.

Pontiac discontinued the firebirds in 2002. Has the same engine as a corvette in it buddy. It is a kickass machine. It is built to last, was garage kept all it's life and was recently apraised at $20,000. The car is a trophy winning beast, you, and many other non-car enthusiasts don't know anything about the firebirds to appreciate them. You rather just buy a mustang, in the v6 form, and think you know cars.
Hmm... I wander why Firebirds got discontinued and Mustangs didn't? Do you want to know why that car gets trophies? Because they don't make it any more... Just the average person looking at it, it blends in with all the other cars. Everyone knows what a Mustang is.

Just got my first car '07 Ford Focus. Standard. 210K+ Miles on it. Never had a problem with it. I know the guy who is giving it to me, I only paid for the Title. All in all, cost me less than $200. Lol. I'm very happy with it.
But really, this person doesn't really sound like they understand cars in the first place. 'I want racing red' <- Cops will pull you over more for that. Statistically speaking they pull red over more than any other color. 'I want manual, but I want it to be fast too' <- Obviously, you've probably never driven Stick. Manual cars, by default, are faster than Automatics. But you have to factor in driving skills too. I don't recommend stick right off the bat, but it's good for a first car. Makes you more attentive because you don't have a free hand for texting/eating because you're shifting.
Sticks are also bad in heavy traffic. Constantly clutching in and out while shifting from first to third and right back to first within 30 feet of moving. Sticks are great for saving on gas too, but they weren't made for highway rush hour where you move like a snail. Make sure you're tall, too. It can be hard to see over the hood of some Mustangs if you slouch in your seat. Not to mention the blind sides on that thing! Woo.

- It gets trophies because it is a beauty. Needle in the haystack. Everyone sees mustangs/camaros daily. they're all the same, nothing special. Then you have a WS6 Firebird roll up, it is a different story. My WS6 firebird isn't a normal firebird, it was built by pontiac, then sent to a factory for the WS6 performance package with Ram Air. Stock my car is low 13's doing 1/4 miles. Add a little mods, under a grand, and it is in the 12s.

Lol exactly everyone knows what a Mustang is, that's why when you go to car meets everyone walks right past them because they're so common, there is nothing special about them.

If I were you, ditch the idea of a Mustang, you want something fast, then get and Impreza with a big bore exhaust, and tune it out over time, you can find cheap Impreza's on eBay.
Getting a Mustang for a first car is silly (IMO) if you wreck it insurance will be a bitch, drinks fuel like a bitch as well.

You may think your firechicken is cool, but to me (a guy who isn't into cars), that car just blends into the crowd. The tried and true Mustang, Camaro, etc. stands out (not the ugly Camaro's like the lower 2k's or what ever). To be completely honest, your firebird looks like a teenage kids Craigslist special that was probably 3k or less. I'm sure to you (presumable a non truck guy), my trucks are nothing special to you either. The fact is, people know what a Mustang is, they generally don't know what a firebird is. This kid clearly just wants something that is flashy, everyone knows, and is viewed as expensive.
