I'm getting a gaming PC for Christmas, and I need one for about 300 GBP but I've been told that isn't enough to get one. Will 300 be enough or will I need to ask for the cash and save up a bit more for a better one?

What is your budget and currency? (Pound sign does not work normally, use GBP abbreviation)
Do you need a monitor?
Do you need a keyboard?
Do you need a mouse?
Do you need an operating system?
What will you use the PC for?


Answer those questions.

If you don't need peripherals, then you will be able to get a very cheap build that you shouldn't expect to run much better than consoles.

Does it have wireless capability because I'm putting the pc upstairs and the router is downstairs

You can get [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] PCI-E wireless card, or if you have ethernet sockets in your house you could connect to the router wired from there.

It depends which circuits are connected to which plug sockets in the house. I had powerline adapters like those and I found them to be much worse then wired ethernet, plus they wouldn't work in most sockets in my house. Depending on where your router is, a WiFi adapter may be a better choice.
