I recommend pluging your router to your xbox one and port fowarding it so that you get an open NAT type.
good luck.

I checked my download speed is 9.71 Mbps
Upload speed is 9.09 Mbps
Packet loss is 0%
Mtu 1452
Latency 275
Wireless strength 100%

And I can't plug it in with a cable to the Xbox I would otherwise but the port on the wirless is like a Ethernet cable but a bit smaller for some reason

If you're internet is that good and you are complaining you are a joke. I have 6 down and 0.5 up if that. Been playing on it for my whole life and we can't switch isp because wind stream has an illegal monopoly over our hole city + many more around us. Only there Internet company can provide Internet and it does not matter what package up at for u get the same Internet. So illegal.

I used to play in cod comp tourneys on ung and gb and Internet was never a problem also I play on csgo and have constant good connection. Therefore you are expecting far to much ( Could see that if your a cod kid. ) or there's actually something wrong with your router

From the results of your speed test, the speeds for your up & down are fine but what would be causing lag would be latency (ping). This is the amount of time in milliseconds it takes to send and receive packets to and from a server. The higher the number, the longer it takes hence lag but then it also depends on the location of the server. The closer the server the better the latency will be and the less lag you will have.

There are a lot of possible reason for you having the connection issues. The best thing would be to run some tests. If you want feel free to shoot me a private message. I can help you go through and test certain things. You can try and optimize your router configuration. Something else is your routing could be messed up. You could try and get in contact with your isp's noc (Network operation center). They would know much more about the routing then trying to call your isp where you will end up with a support rep that doesn't have a single clue about what you are talking about and tell you to go through stupid basic trouble shooting methods.

Check your internet package that you are subscribed with.

If you are supposed to get say 40mbps and you are only getting half,
or experiencing lag spikes. Then it would be best to upgrade you router.

On the other hand, if your internet service is only giving you a stingy amount of mbsp
Then it is your internet service why you're experiencing the lag

Everything here looks good except the latency that is pretty high and is probably causing you to lag it should be below 100 you should hard wired it that might help. Try unplugging your gateway for an hours and see if that might help the latency issue.

The latency is bad, BUT this could be from multiple things such as there not being a speedtest server near him or his routes could be messed up like I stated before.

In regards to your question, you should be given a wireless router. They stopped doing modems years ago. I've heard your selected ISP isn't the most reliable.
BT are also very good im getting 60-130MBS download and 30-90 uplaod +TV is good :>

I am on BT too fibreoptic I am happy but sometimes can be slow when they promise 'super fast speeds'

The 'promised' speed differs throughout the day, same for you?
