Yeah, that's not great. 980Ti is a huge waste at 1080p, just grab a 970. I wouldn't have gone with a 1080p monitor with your budget though. It's a shame that the monitor has already been purchased, can you return it?

Why would I get a 970 then I cant 4k in the future, im just trying to think ahead ive had this monitor since july

You can easily 4k in the future on a 970, just not as well as a 980ti.

It's not really a terrible rig, but I'd just get a 970 instead of the 980Ti. You have SLI support anyway, so you could add a 2nd 970 in the future for close to 980Ti performance. I'd look at getting a 1440p panel. Definitely don't get that cooler though. Get a bigger AIO or a nice air cooler. 120/140mm AIOs don't perform very good for their price usually. As for Windows, don't pay retail price for it. Buy a key from G2A or the r/microsoftsoftwareswap subreddit, if you must pay for OS. I'd just get it the free way though.

i would too but i want updates and i dont want to have to deal with any problems i might be getting a copy of windows 7 from my school though which would be upgradable to windows 10
