Just saying right now, dont be a dipshit to impress people and youll be alright. Baby it till you get a good feel for it. Last but not least, your parents spoiled the shit out of you. I hope you at least have a job to learn responsibility...

Yeah this might not be the brightest move ever by your parents. Giving a 17 year old kid a car this powerful is an awful idea. All it takes is one attempt at impressing your friends/ showing off and there will be a sad funeral taking place.

However as long as you're careful with the car and baby the hell out of it you have a nice car dude. My advice to you is to enjoy it but definitely be careful. Also watch out for people asking for rides just to use you for your car.

you'll never be leaving work. paying insurance and gas on that will be a nightmare for you. for a first car that's insane. take good care of it and don't try and race everything you see

Leather seats are a rip off in the auto world (for trucks anyways). I'm looking at buying a new truck and to get leather in the truck is anywhere between a 3-5k option at cheapest. I can go to an upholstery shop and get the same quality leather for 1k or less installed.

OP, I say so sad for a few reasons. You may not be this kind of person but I see it a lot so please don't take it as me trying to attack you or being jealous of your car (hard not to be though haha). Kids get these free cars and they don't really appreciate them. I mean they do in the sense that "hey my car is better than yours", but not in the sense that I worked my ass off for the past 5 years to buy this car so I'm going to keep up on everything and make sure nothing happens to it. If anything though, I'd fault your parents. You are a young driver and need a good car to start out on. Most parents would say get something YOU can afford and make sure it's safe. Some kids don't do that and their parents don't want to drive them around so they buy them a brand new car for reliability. A GTR is not a car that you should be learning. I could be wrong, but I don't think you can afford it. I could be wrong so I'll re-phrase that to say most kids your age can't afford it. Yeah you got the car for free, but now can you afford insurance? Maintenance costs? Repair costs? For the majority of kids your age, the answer is no. Most kids can't afford to repair their 1990's Honda Civic.

All in all I say so sad because I just see a ruined opportunity for respect, responsibility and overall finances. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful piece of machinery and who would say no to it?

GTR's only come in an automatic, there is nothing wrong with cloth either. It is easier to maintain anyways at least in my opinion. No need to be rude just because he's only 17 and has one. I don't understand why people have to hate on him

i completely see where you're coming from. i only have to pay a little towards insurance & the fill up was like 65$. Nissans guide says to get the oil changed every 6000 miles or so. Thats all i have to pay towards the car. parents covered everything else. Is it right that they're doing all this for me? Absolutely not. Does it make me seem like a complete spoiled brat who gets whatever the **** he wants? Absolutely.
