I personally like the design. It has a deep message. I would get it on a black shirt.

No. The message is wrong.

Attributing a cause to a group of people posthumously is both silly and offensive to their memory.
Native Americans didn't die for the freedoms people in the US have today. They died trying to defend their homes. They weren't thinking "I stand in opposition to this group of invaders, but I will die for the freedoms their descendants will one day inherit." They were thinking, "These people are trying to invade my land and kill my family and I will die before I see that happen."

This top would be better off saying, "Pogroms are bad and your ancestors were too."

When it comes to atrocities like this, there seems to be a trend for how people react over time. Immediately after the event it's revenge, reprisal, retaliation, then half a century down the line it turns into recompense and reparations, and then a century later it's remembrance, with the initial atrocity neither avenged, nor atoned for.

The only differing factor is time. But the US has grown so accustomed to life without having to worry about Native Americans that it wouldn't do well to rock the boat, yet those bones still lie buried in mass graves without having been avenged and what do people do now to show how outraged they are? Buy a t-shirt.

Other than that the design on a top doesn't particularly matter. How often do you pay enough attention to the design on a person's top to recognize that it has a meaning and contemplate that meaning? Probably once a day at the very most.

So this design beautifully highlights and draws interest in what the message really actually portrays and draws light to the dark history of this country. The designers were genius. This actually honors the Natives for it reveals the true history.

I'm not saying that people shouldn't rock the boat. I'm saying that buying a t-shirt is not rocking the boat.
When 'rocking the boat' back when revenge was on the minds of people who cared involved killing people, your definition today is to buy a t-shirt.
This doesn't seem to me like a great way to change the world even if you are right.

You can't debunk a lie by propping up another lie against it. Neither have died for your freedom.

The US soldier who dies overseas fighting a terrorist network which acts like a hydra is no more preserving the freedom of the US than a native american who died defending their home did to purposefully instigate the beginning of those freedoms being crafted.

They are both lies.

The fashion industry would make billions of dollars every year whether or not they put meaningful quotes on their tops. It is usually individual people or organisations making tops with particular meanings to push an ideological agenda. Just because people buy these tops under the assumption that people will read them doesn't mean that people do. People do have the ability to be wrong.
