I was going to originally type the text below as a reply with steps for fixing this but saw this post right before I submitted it. Thought I'd share anyway

do you still have your Windows 7/8.1 license key? Normally it would ship with your laptop or be printed on a sticker on the back of your laptop/behind your battery. It's possible for the old key to be in the bios and tied into the hardware but I'm not familiar enough with your model laptop to know. I generally work with enterprise equpiment. If you have that key then you're in business and can proceed. Next step: You're going to take a Windows 8 disk that you either have (possibly shipped with laptop originally) or you're going to make a Windows 8 .iso/repair tool (download on Microsoft's website. URL will vary depending on country. Just google "Windows 8.1 download or something like that). Make sure that you have all important files backed up to an external device and then boot to that disk that you made. Use the install option. Go ahead and format your partition (this will erase everything on that machine. literally everything) and then go ahead and create a new partition with all of your extra space and choose that as your Windows 8.1 install location. Install Windows 8/8.1.
Now your machine will have 8/8.1 installed. Click into computer properties and activate your license. After you have activated your license go ahead and check for Windows updates. After that move all of your files back onto your computer, reinstall software, enjoy your old computer.

I didnt get a key with it, since its a tablet computer, i cant take the battery out. i assume. I had to borrow a key and windows disc from one of my friends that work in I.T.

I cant even get that far into the process to format everything. About 3 steps in i get an error message.

Resetting ? already tried that bro, samsung are ADAMANT that its not possible to install win 10 onto it since it only has an atom processor so they think i must've done some wizard shit to get this working (all i did was click install)

There is no reason to buy a new copy of windows. Also the unable to get it to reformat because it is a tablet is also incorrect. make sure the install media you are using is properly setup to be bootable. go into the bios disable fast boot (if its there), disable Secure boot (should be there if it came with win 8) than save and exit. directly after pressing the power button, press the one time boot menu button (usually F12, may be different for Samsung). select the type of media you are using and you should be good.

If you are still unable to get it load the windows 8 install disk, i would recommend bringing it in to a local PC repair shop or a GeekSquad location. Sometimes it is just better to have professionals do it.

I have already made sure it was bootable, turned off secure boot and made sure the usb was bootable. I think ill need to take it to a shop

So regardless of what you have already done, I found a tutorial that shows how to do a clean install on the device. This should work no mater what restrictions the system says when you try to install windows.

You should have a recovery drive to roll back on regardless if you installed Windows 10 that would put you back to Windows 8. Whats the error you get when you boot from the USB?
