iFallOffStuff wrote I'm just curious as to why people don't use AMD parts, they are extremely cheap and good value yet almost nobody (myself included) has an AMD CPU in their PC? Do they get high temps under load? Or are they just less reliable.

Because you can get better perfomance out of Intel chips, AMD still uses older architecture. Even AMD knows it, whenever they go to test their graphics cards to see what numbers they make they use Intel chips.

I personally use AMD for my builds but Intel in my laptops..

I do not like the AMD A series for laptops, but I enjoy the i7 & i5.
I love the AMD FX 8350 for my last build... but intel is to expensive for me

AMD a few years back was a viable option, but now that their business and marketing department is ran by toddlers. They really have gone backwards. They went from making viable CPU and GPU's to making nothing but APU's to put into consoles, all in the space of 2 years.

Intel and NVIdia are always the first to push boundaries with their products, that's why people buyy then. I myself find it hard to buy hardware that is just a copy and paste of the previous generation. AMD have been doing that since the 7xxx series, and that was what now? 4 years ago? I don't mind paying money, but it has to be worth it, and AMD just aren't providing that right now...

I'm hoping this will change in the future however, the days of me trying my hardest not to blow up my old 6300 was fun asf!
