I had a similar first experience. The drivers ed car was a Dodge Stratus. Me living in small town 'Murica living in a family of rednecks, I started with driving trucks. You really have to mash the pedals to go and stop. I thought it was the same concept so I started driving the car like I would a truck and I spun the tires of the drivers ed car in the parking lot lol.

It gets pretty easy after the first couple times though.
