OP is in the UK tho guise. Y'all in the US are lucky. Insurance in the UK is pitiful and any modification puts your insurance premiums up.

Yeah i understand that, plus the area he lives in makes a big difference. For example i have a 2014 charger & i'm paying $2400 a year in insurance, i live in PA, my uncle lives in Ontario & he told me one time how much more insurance is, it would be somewhere like 8k. Adjust a bit for difference in currency but that is still a significant amount more. So yeah there are a lot of factors that go into it

That's how you get proper shafted when something does go wrong though.

Just don't tell the insurer you've fitted alloys... if anything was to happen in the future such as a Crash/claim and the insurer points out that you have alloys fitted, just say they were on there when you bought and insured the car. Unless you've specifically stated that you don't have alloys, I can't see this will ever be a problem. Alloy wheels are more common than steel rims nowadays...

Slifer- wrote Can your insurance really go up over some Rims? Idk how that even makes sensebecause its a modification.. And it costs money. If you were to get in to an accident, they're more expensive to replace. They also make the car more appealing to thieves.

Zooka wroteDepends where? If you're living in the UK then your insurance can be massively affected by any after-market modifications. For example if I wanted to replace my alloys with some after-market ones, my insurance could double.13 wrote Check with your insurance, but yes, any modification will increase your insurance premium.
that is not true, modifications have nothing to do with your insurance.
i think he is talking about warranty ? not sure though, but putting alloys on your car will not have an effect on your insurance. warranty maybe depending if you do any damage or the alloys cause the damage and you try to get it fixed through insurance/dealer.
