Agreed. Also, DO NOT get a Corsa...
Whats wrong with a corsa?
It's a Corsa
Yea but its a first car, not everyone has 5k for a Golf MK5 or Leon MK2 for their first car and thats not including insurance.

Visxal wrote Also if you don't want a blackbox then get one of your parents to be the main driver and put you as second driver. It will be cheaper than a blackbox and you don't have to do 45mph all the time. Thats what I done.
That's fronting.

I never knew that lol, but there is no way for the insurance company to know who drives the car most.

True, not sure how they'd know but it's still illegal I guess. If it came to it, I'm sure the would find out somehow.

4000 should be enough, if you can find the right car and insurance.
My car cost around 3200 and insurance the first year was 1400. I have an 02 Mini Cooper 1.6L w/ black box. As long as you not an idiot, you won't need to worry about the box. Ignore the others, get a Corsa, Clio, Polo, or something around that ballpark, should be able to find one with decent mileage within your price range. Also the insurance premium can drop quite a lot. I am on my second year, I was quoted on renewal at around 800, which I don't think is that bad, it dropped by a lot.
Good luck with your test.

I have a clio 1.2 cost around 2.5k and insurance 900 with black box. Put one of your parents as a named driver and itll go down a bit. Dont listen to others, any first car is okay

People say "NO DONT GET A CORSA" but they're actually very reliable cars.
Maybe a:
Fiat Punto
Suzuki Swift
Citroen c2
Renault Clio
VW Polo
VW Lupo
Seat Aroza
Mini Cooper
Ford Fiesta zetec-s
There's quite a lot of cars for a first tbh. There's just some suggestions for you
