Personally I would not go with a Ford Fiesta. I'm actually a ford mechanic and see these things some in all the time for concerns. An older focus like 08-10 would be good. If you can try to learn stick they are good reliable cars.

Hmm interesting didn't know that recall was out. I'll have to look into that

I'm looking on going the Auctions to try and find a fiesta, then put my mum down as main driver, is it true that say if i am driving for a year as Second Driver, the quote next year will not be cheaper?

I would stay away from auctions. Cars go to auction because of salvage titles, not suitable for some dealers to sell on their lot etc. There are some good cars, but you can't test drive at most auctions (if any?). I would go to dealers or private parties. Make sure to let a mechanic inspect it too.

Yepp, that's what i learn in, in the UK the majority are stick shift.

Yeah that's you're best route. I would not go to an auction and try to find a Fiesta. I'm warning you now lol
